Baked Livingness X JRC

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself. Do you have a day job? Hobbies?

Hello! I’m Sarah, a Brisbane-based creative, designer and entrepreneur who is a fun, vibrant and colourful woman. I have an effervescent love of life, colour and energy which is reflected in all I do.

I currently work in a multifaceted role as the Design and Creative Director for Happy Lawyer Happy Life and Brisbane Family Law Centre. My most recent project has been designing and developing Amicably, a purpose-built online service for families seeking to resolve legal issues that arise from separation. I engage my unique skill set in design, digital marketing, and interpersonal communications to deliver professional service.

Behind my professional pursuits is a deep awareness of self, compassion and penchant for healthy and intentional living. This is no more evident than in my passion project, Baked Livingness through which I create nourishing food for events and to-order, whilst simultaneously communicating messages of wellness and self-love to a broader audience via digital touchpoints and eBook. And hence this collaboration.

2. Tell us about Baked Livingness.

I simply love making food for people and this is what inspired my Baked Livingness adventure. Being able to provide people with simple honest and tasty real food which naturally supports them throughout the day is what it is all about for me. All in all Baked Livingness is a reflection of my effervescent love of life, colour and energy.

This year brought change for Baked Livingness. I used to have a commercial kitchen and people could engage me as their caterer for events, workshops or celebrations. Fast-forwarding to now people are able to engage me as a ‘personal cook’ and learn how to cook simple but yummy food with me, in their kitchen for their guests. I just love baking food for people.

3. Do you collaborate with other creatives often? What's your favourite things about collaborating?

I am collaborating all the time... The fruit graphics from this print collaboration with JRC where in fact built from collaboration. My dear friend Sophie Van Der Drift created a series of 'fruit salad' prints to compliment my recipes for my e-book. Sophie van der Drift is a freelance graphic designer with a fondness for the interlacing of design and marketing and the possibilities of transcending design from a visual statement to an evolving, effective project. She is inspired by Australia’s natural beauty, travel and the bold people initating positive change in this world. Sophie and I have been friends for over six years and share a mutual love of nourishing food, “The Northern Rivers”, weekend markets and vintage finds.

And to add the cherry to the cake...

The series of delightful, yummy and healthy recipes in the e-book were created to compliment my dear friend, Clarissa Rayward’s book ‘Happy Lawyer Happy Life’. Clarissa’s book Happy Lawyer Happy Life will give you the tools you need to make the best of your career in the law and, perhaps more importantly, find happiness in your life.

Working in collaboration with Clarissa and Sophie has given me this wonderful opportunity to share, connect and inspire through simple, healthy and vibrant food choices. Here is a collection of my favourite delightful and nourishing recipes that I find support me through every moment of every day.

We are in an era where collaboration and connection is key!
